What is a DPF?
A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) traps soot in the exhaust and periodically burns it off during a regeneration to reduce emissions.
How it works
- Trap: Porous filter walls catch soot particles.
- Monitor: Pressure and temperature sensors measure soot loading.
- Regenerate: The ECU raises exhaust temperature to burn soot to ash.
What is EGR?
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) routes a small amount of exhaust back into the intake to lower combustion temperatures and NOx emissions.
How it works
- Valve: The EGR valve meters flow based on load and temperature.
- Cooler: Hot exhaust is cooled before entering the intake.
- ECU control: Monitored via position and temperature sensors.

Symptoms? Warning lights, limp mode, poor MPG, rough idle or frequent regens. We recommend a proper diagnostic first — guesswork can make things worse.
How we help
- Full diagnostic scan and live data review
- Check sensors, leaks and intake cleanliness
- Discuss safe, legal solutions based on your usage
